30 year Blog 2019 Channings Childcare

 This month we are 30 years old, well Channings childcare is!!  

It was 12^th September 1989 when the Newhey building opened its doors to the first little children. Like all the babies and children who have attended over the years, Channings has grown and developed.   There are now 6 Channings childcare. More than 3,500 children have walked through our doors over the years, to learn, grow, make friends, develop and have fun. Catherine Hoggard, the owner, started Channings Childcare.  Sharon Harrison was by her side then, as she is now (she left for a while, but returned).  Catherine has grown Channings to a six nursery group, with a seventh to open next year. Sharon has nurtured the children and the business over the years. Diane Brooks works alongside Sharon ensuring quality standards and smooth running.  They have a lot to do, there is always something to deal with!

So many fabulous staff and families have been part of Channings Childcare. We have wonderful, kind, nurturing members of staff. We have been very lucky to share such an important part of a child’s life with some marvellous parents and families.  Some of our staff and children are second generation Channings children. Real family values.

Newhey, Chadderton Way and Rochdale had birthday celebrations last week, there were parties and fun and games. There are some fabulous photographs on Facebook. Thank you to everyone for their kind comments. We will keep adding our celebratory photographs.

As part of our 30 year celebrations, the Oldham Chronicle Signature magazine included a feature article.
