Welcome to our Channings Childcare June 2019 Blog

As the days go by, we are all awaiting the long glorious summer……we have beautiful hot days, then the sun disappears,  but maybe soon…..   Regardless of the weather all our babies and children are busy learning, building social skills, enjoying outdoor play and having fun.

Chadderton Way, Rochdale and Werneth all had fabulous parties to celebrate Eid. Many of our lovely parents kindly donated delicious food and the children had a real party feast.

The older children have been having their graduation photographs taken. Children have been with us since they were tiny, we have watched them grow into lovely young people. In the coming weeks there will be so many emotions, both sad and happy for children, parents and staff, as children leave us for their next stage in life.  Bonds are built up and we see so much development in each child. We all wish our leavers a very happy and successful next stage in their lives.  We welcome news and visits any time and we love to know how our little children are doing.

We will be having our leaver’s parties in July.  Please let us know which school your child will be attending if you haven’t already done so.

On our Facebook pages recently at Newhey preschool children have been developing their vocabulary in Maths using words such as tallest, shortest and longest to order and measure items. They had been segmenting and blending words and identifying which letters represented different sounds. Werneth children have been improving their balancing skills, exercising and generally enjoying themselves in the park.

We have an advert currently on the Oldham Chronicle website, it includes wording which was written by children from our Royton nursery and photographs of some of our children from Newhey, Chadderton Way and Middleton.  We also had a radio advert on Revolution 96.2, it will be featured again soon a few weeks.

Our focus nursery today is Channings Werneth

Werneth will continue undergoing improvements this summer. We are going to utilise the decked area for the toddlers giving them an extension to their room, so they can bring the outside indoors as one free flow area, regardless of the seasons. The new preschool outdoor soft play area is now completed and it’s being used by everyone.

The children have had great fun watching and talking about the diggers on the land next door, the clearing and excavation work has been considerable, much to the delight of our children. It’s like having our own Bob the Builder as the children come to and from nursery.

In the garden we have a lovely selection of fruit growing in the tyres area, including strawberries, redcurrants and grapes. The children are learning about healthy eating, caring for and growing fruit. They are loving it.
