July Blog 2019 Channings Childcare

Welcome to our July Blog.

In June, we were wondering when the summer would appear. Last week the sun really was shining and we all were extremely hot indeed!  We’re not used to that heat round here!!  Then we had torrential rain.  Today it can’t make up its mind, hopefully it will improve soon.  Regardless of the temperature, summer is here and it is holiday season.

Time for summer fun, barbecues and hopefully, a little relaxation.

We have had a very busy few weeks with our pre-school children enjoying their leavers’ parties. So many Channings  children are leaving to start school in September.  Our managers have uploaded some fantastic photographs of the various events that have been held. Here is a summary.

Channings Werneth held a ‘Prince and Princess’   party. The children were beautifully dressed up and they danced the day away to music, played party games and ate mountains of party food.   At Newhey, the children were playing Toy Story bowling and Disney Party games, the children and staff  thoroughly enjoyed every second of their party.  Royton’s Leavers Party was a Festival, ‘Channings Chella’, the Pre School children loved making their own tie dye t-shirts for the party. They played party games and decorated their hair and faces with glitter and gems.  Rochdale really enjoyed their Summer party. They were dressing up and taking photographs in their very own photo booth as well as making ice creams for friends in the ice cream parlour. It was fabulous and great fun. All the children had an excellent time at their Beach themed party at Chadderton Way, they walked on our ‘beach’, paddled in the pool and played limbo. They love limbo !!   Middleton had great fun at their Disney party. The children dressed up as 101 Dalmatians, Buzz Lightyear, Minnie Mouse. Fun and games were had by everyone.

It is always a time of great happiness, pride and sadness as the children, who have been with us, since babies in some cases, are ready to move on to school.  We would to thank all parents, families and children for their support over the years and for all the delightful words, cards and gifts. Our staff really appreciate your kind words. Thank you

One lovely parent left a message for us on Facebook:  Best nursery ever!!! I can’t thank you all enough for the time and effort every single member of staff puts in with my children! I am forever thankful.

We would like to wish each and every one of you the best of luck in the next stage of your life. You will all be missed. Please keep in touch, we love to know how you are all doing at school and beyond. We even know what some of our first Newhey children are doing now. One of them is 30 years old !!

Recently, Danielle at Werneth successfully achieved her level 3 childcare qualification. We always try to celebrate on social media when our staff gain their additional awards. We currently have 11 of our staff studying their level 3.  Lauren Green at Royton achieved her Level 4 earlier this year. Well done to Danielle, Lauren and everyone else who has worked so hard to pass their qualifications. It’s difficult trying to juggle work, the workload and life. Many of our staff work on additional awards throughout the year. Well done to everyone

Improvements at Channings Middleton are ongoing. So much work has been carried out on the outside space, in fact our developments have created quite an interest locally !   It is not yet quite completed; however the garden area has been drastically changed and looks so much better. We now have a grassed, raised area which will have a canopy overhead and a lovely bench, our new fencing is finished and goes around the perimeter of the land. We have environmentally friendly, play bark around climbing frame and we are currently working on the new decking area in the centre of the garden. The football pitch has been re-seeded for the new football season for our little players. It’s all go. We will upload photographs soon.

I think that’s enough news for July!

May we wish all of you a lovely summer and let’s hope there is more sunshine for us all.

Thank you and best wishes from Channings Childcare

I have just dropped Maisie off at nursery and I’m so envious of Christmas PJ day, looks like you are going to have so much fun!
My daughter is currently in the preschool room and the staff have done an amazing job helping her to settle in.
Thank you for everything you have done for our Logan. You have had such an impact on him and taught him how to sustain friendships.
