Channings Nursery in Royton (Prospect House)
The Channings Nursery in Royton, a charming, prestigious Victorian residence set in its own grounds, was formally known as Prospect House. Prior to its conversion to a Channings Nursery, Prospect House was a family home, but was more famously known as one of Royton’s Scattered Homes. Parents often remark on the cosy, homely and carling feel of the nursery. This is particularly so in our baby room. We are sometimes visited by people who lived here when it was a childrens’ home and they tell us that Prospect House was a friendly place even then.
